Billion Allies With Trend Micro To Announce myGuardT ADSL Router
Anti-Virus, Anti-SPAM, and URL parental filtering security features guard its residential and office users

Taipei, Taiwan - Billion Electric Co. Ltd. (Taiex: #3027) today announces a series of myGuardT ADSL Router which offers a security mechanism integrating Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, as well as URL Parental Filtering technologies, into its router products.

In light of emerging virus threats and the growing demand for URL parental control, Billion has designed a series of myGuardT ADSL Router to securely guard broadband access for residential and office users. Upon activation of Billion's router via broadband access, the router's security mechanism will guard its users by enforcing anti-virus installation, reporting health-check status, assessing vulnerability points within a user's PC, to protect the user from potential risk of virus infection and offer spam prevention. Simultaneously, the router also controls legitimate access to websites with minimal configuration efforts by enabling the access routing through a dynamically-updated database to validate URL filtering and blocking features .

This series of myGuardT ADSL Router is launched in alliance with Trend Micro in March for its Security SDK Launch, focusing on gateway technologies, such as Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam. In particular, the URL Parental Filtering feature in myGuardT ADSL series enables residential and office users, real-time and comprehensive functionality. At home, the series addresses parents' concern in protecting their children from accessing violent or pornographic websites. In the office, employers are able to set up corporate Internet access policy by restricting staffs to undesired websites.

Billion launches myGuardT ADSL router by re-packaging several product models and enhancing the security mechanism. The available product range of myGuardT is the BiPAC 7400 series. The first product model will be delivered in June, and later months of the year, according to the product roadmap of Billion's Research & Laboratory.
