Billion Reasons to Visit PC Range at CeBIT 2007

Australia's most popular broadband router brand, Billion, will demonstrate its award-winning range of Internet access and secure networking devices at CeBIT 2007.

Billion's exclusive Australian distributor PC Range has achieved record sales of Billion broadband routers this year, including its VoIP-enabled flagship Billion 7404 ADSL2+ router.

Billion sales during January and February were 20 per cent higher than in the buoyant November-December lead-up to Christmas.

Billion is Australia's most popular broadband router brand according to the 2006 Australian Broadband Survey http://whirlpool.net.au/survey/2006/, conducted by tech-savvy website Whirlpool. The survey reports that Billion routers were used by 21 per cent of its more than 20,000 respondents.

During 2006, VoIP-enabled broadband routers accounted for more than 50 per cent of Billion's Australian sales. In 2004-05, VoIP routers were just 1.3 per cent of its sales. The Billion reasons to visit the PC Range stand at CeBIT 2007 include your chance for a close look at:

  1. Built-in VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) support in the Billion 7404 routers, which provide home, SOHO and small business customers with economical VoIP calls, along with wireless mobility and the benefits of high-speed Internet access.
  2. Built-in Annex M capabilities in the 7404, which doubles upstream speeds for customers of broadband companies supporting the Annex M protocol, which was approved last year.
  3. The Billion BiGuard S10 and S20 security devices, the world's first SSL VPN (Secure Sockets Layer Virtual Private Network) firewall/gateways for small businesses. The S10 and S20 provide secure remote access to a business network using a standard Web browser.

Billion has won numerous awards internationally and in Australia for the innovative design of its broadband routers and security devices (see details at www.billion.com.au). PC Range managing director Raaj Menon said CeBIT visitors could receive a personal demonstration of why sales of Billion routers were booming among small to medium enterprises and residential customers. "VoIP routers are selling like hotcakes whereas in 2005 they were a rarity," he said. "Voice over IP technology is starting to shake up the telecommunications sector. People are embracing the opportunity to use convenient low-cost calling services like Skype or NodePhone, rather than pay through the nose for long-distance or overseas calls." "We've also seen increasing sales of SME security routers like the BiGuard 30, the S10 and the S20. The beauty of the S10 and S20 is that they provide small businesses with enterprise-level security and browser-based remote access for less than $1000."
