Billion to highlight SMB and Digital Home networking devices
at Computex 2007

Billion Electric Co., Ltd. (Taiex: #3027) will be showcasing its award-winning range of SMB Network Solutions and launching its 3G/HSDPA router and VDSL2 modem for Digital Home use during Computex Taipei 2007. There will also be a Live Demonstration at Billion's stand to show how BiGuard SSL VPN devices securely manage remote access from anywhere via a web browser.

For SMB Network Solutions, Billion will display a full range of security appliances including the BiGuard S5, S10, and S20. The SSL VPN security appliance series integrates SSL VPN encryption as well as firewall and router functions in one box. It also offers various SSL VPN applications such as Network Extender, Host Security Checking and supports many different kinds of browsers, operating systems including Macintosh, and mobile devices like PDAs, providing remote users, mobile workers and external business partners with secure remote access to the corporate network to share files, check e-mail, and download documents. The brand-new BiGuard SSL6000 (Dual-WAN SSL/IPSec VPN Security Gateway), featuring Gigabit port connectivity for LAN and WAN will also be unveiled. With the Gigabit port design integrated, the BiGuard SSL6000 enables SMBs to benefit from efficient corporate resource-sharing and high-speed Internet connectivity. The device features 60 SSL VPN tunnels and supports up to 120 concurrent SSL/IPSec VPN sessions for SMBs with up to 500 employees. Furthermore, the feature set and the number of VPN tunnels can be upgraded at the user's request.

To provide System Integrators and Telcos/ISPs with an easy and cost-effective way to manage their SMB users' network devices remotely via a web-based interface, Billon's remote management software solution, BiGuard CMS (Central Management System) supports remote management of up to 2,048 BiGuard SSL VPN series security appliances from a central site. This management software equips service providers with remote configuration capabilities, such as data backup and restoration, and firmware upgrading, enabling them to centrally administer multiple customer devices either on demand or on a pre-defined schedule, which significantly saves maintenance effort. The log function in BiGuard CMS allows administrators to continuously record and track device usage.

The 3G/HSDPA router is another product highlighted in Billion's showcase. The BiPAC 7300GX is an all-in-one, compact mobile ADSL2+ router perfect for home or office users and travelers to enjoy extreme mobility offering 3rd-generation (3G) mobile technology and faster access to the Internet. The router features dual WAN interfaces, enabling users to access the Internet either via ADSL2+ technology with downstream rate up to 24Mbps, or through 3G technology that makes a downstream rate of 14.4Mbps possible. By inserting a 3G/HSDPA PC Card provided by a 3G operator into the router, users can enjoy Internet access using their PC or a mobile handset. Whenever desired, users can watch movies, download music on the road, or access e-mail and go online to share important information when there's an urgent need. Even in a formal gathering or vehicle, the BiPAC 7300GX lets users stay in touch with the world.

VDSL2 (Very High Speed Digital Subscriber Line 2) is the next generation of DSL technology for the Digital Home. With accelerated data rates, VDSL2 delivers high transfer speeds for bandwidth-consuming applications, like voice, video-on-demand, and IPTV services. Billion's BiPAC 8600SM (VDSL2 Modem) has integrated VDSL2 technology to provide an impressively large bandwidth for users who want to realize their dream of a Digital Home or achieve their vision of improved office productivity. The BiPAC 8600SM supports asymmetric modes up to 100Mbps for downstream and 45Mbps for upstream speeds. Due to the characteristics of faster rates and shorter distances offered by VDSL2, it is an ideal and cost-effective solution to use fiber optic lines as the backbone and a VDSL line as the last mile into the home or office. VDSL operates over copper wires so that telecom operators can provide bundled services to end-users similar to those that cable operators offer. With outstanding throughput, the BiPAC 8600SM can complement a fiber network to offer the best solution for delivering IPTV or home entertainment services.

Billion plans to roll out BiGuard CMS and the BiGuard SSL6000 in the third quarter of 2007.
